5 date night ideas during quarantine

Lockdown is forcing us to spend more time inside and at home. However, that doesn’t mean date needs need to stop! Theres really so many things you can do together where you can dedicate your full attention and still get quality time in with your partner. But I brought it down to 5 date night ideas to do during quarantine.

I’m a huge believer in the importance of weekly date nights for couples. This time alone with your partner is so important for a healthy relationship. You bond, your love for one another grows, you have fun, you remember all the things you love about them and get to enjoy them with no distractions.

New couples, couples who have been together for a long time, married couples, and couples with children should all have weekly date nights! I’ve heard this advice several times from older couples with long lasting marriages, “never stop dating.”

  1. Cook together

Use some of that time you have on your phone and get on pinterest to look for fun and new recipes to try together! Then, enjoy your dinner together with your choice of wine or beers.

2. DIY Project

You know that project you kept saying you wanted to do for the house? Now’s the time! Bond while you teamwork and see what you’re capable of creating/building together. Plus you get what feels like a new piece of furniture or decor! WIN-WIN.

3. Workout

Do an at home workout together with no weights, you’ve got to get creative. Why not use this other person to your advantage? They can keep you focused, motivate you, and maybe you can even use their body as weight? Why not?

4. Dinner & a movie

Luckily, the restaurants aren’t closing for curbside pick up and/or delivery.  Bring it back home and put a movie on netflix, hulu, or your favorite site to watch movies at home!

5. Get artsy

being creative is good for mental health. We need all the help in this department when the world is so chaotic right now. Get a canvas and paint, or random art supplies. Even if you’re not necessarily “good at art”, its so fun to see what you can do and there’s also painting tutorials youtube you can follow.

Do one of these weekly and have fun!
